DEATH THREATS
Using a variety of communication mediums, the defendant in this case has intimidated and made threats of serious violence against a material witness in a trial for a suspected ring of international drugs smugglers.

22nd August 2005
RAPE
Working closely with the Special Victims Support Unit, HB are managing a high profile case involving multiple rape allegations.

13th August 2005
INDECENT ASSAULT
HB have taken instruction on a complex case involving the alleged indecent assault of a minor over thirteen years ago.  Forensic specialists are assisting the defence team in evaluating the evidence secured by the Police.

10th August 2005
SOFTWARE PIRACY
A six month investigation by Trading Standards authorities and the Merseyside Police has resulted in the arrest of a software piracy ring of, responsible for the illicit manufacture and sale of games, DVD's and software applications.  HB is providing digital forensic expertise to support this ongoing case.

RACIALLY MOTIVATED MURDER INVESTIGATION
Hogan Brown has taken instruction on one of the most high profile murder investigations in several years - the unprovoked attack on 18 year old A-level student Anthony Walker.

DATA PROTECTION REGISTRATION - BEWARE!
2005 has seen a significant increase in the numbers of bogus agencies, purporting to help businesses comply with Data Protection Act legislation, targeting enterprises in the North of England.  HB is working on one of the more significant cases in this space and encourages smaller businesses to contact the Information Commissioner if they receive any communications advertising such 'services'.

Respected authority on cyber-crime and asymmetric attacks against information systems/architectures, a former research at the world leading infosec authority the SANS Institute, has joined Hogan Brown to head up the 'Digital Evidence and Information Assurance' department.
